Beginnings in Hungary...

History of the SOS Talents Foundation

in Hungary from 2007 to 2010

 

Since August 2007 there has been also Hungarian pupil supported by the SOS Talents Foundation in the person of Ádám Zsolt Szokolay, 11 year old pianist, who is visiting the class of special talents at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. He introduced himself to the European broadcasting audience at the SOS Talents Evening Gala held in Paris, on December 13, 2007. The concert was broadcast live to 37 countries by the classical music channel MEZZO.

 

Mónika Ruth Vida is the latest Hungarian pupil of the Foundation, who is 12 years old and visiting the 6th class of Járdányi Pál school of music of Budapest. She has been supported since Mai 2008.

 

Both of them participated in the National Solfeggio and Folk Song Competition on Mai 9-11., 2008, where Ádám won the First Prize and Mónika was awarded by the Second Prize.

 

Ádám and Mónika won the following prizes at the I. age-group of the II. “Chopin + ......” International Piano Competition held on June 16-20, 2008:

                        - Special prize for the best performance of piece by Schubert

The first Budapest concert of SOS Talents Foundation took place at the Old Academy of Music (Budapest, Vörösmarty str. 35.) on Saturday, July 19, 2008. Students of the Foundation Alexandra Masaleva from Russia and Ádám Zsolt Szokolay  performed pieces by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Prokofjev, Bartók, Farkas Ferenc és Michel Sogny followed by tremendous applause.

The second Budapest concert of SOS Talents Foundation take place at the Old Academy of Music (Budapest, Vörösmarty str. 35.) on Saturday, February 28, 2009. Students of the Foundation Mónika Ruth Vida and Ádám Zsolt Szokolay  performed pieces by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Prokofjev, Bartók, Farkas Ferenc és Michel Sogny.
