Michel SognyMichel Sogny is a pedagogue, composer, pianist, who studied also psychology and literature at the university, holds a PhD in philosophy from the Sorbonne and created a purely genuine synthesis of these interests. In 1972 Dr. Sogny founded the Association Franz Liszt in conjunction with Liszt’s great-grandson called Blandine Ollicier de Prévaux. His extended essay on the psychology of Liszt's creative process entitled ”Creative Admiration at Liszt” enthusiastically applauded also by André Malraux was published at Buchet-Chastel in 1975.

In 1974 Dr. Sogny formed a school in Paris, which became very popular shortly. His unique pedagogy based on self-expression and pleasance of piano playing is met with general recognition, György Cziffra proposed the formation of Nobel Prize of music and awarding it first to Michel Sogny. His adult students have been introduced at concerts organized in Paris (at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées), in Europe and in the United States. French State Department shot a report film about his teaching activity, which has been presented by 50 television channels and several cinemas all over the world. In 1986 he was awarded by the United Nations Peace Medal in New York. Dr. Sogny performed his own works on the stage of Espace Cardin in 1990, confirming that he is a composer with original harmony and clear of temporary fashions. In 1995 he founded a new music institute called Villa Schindler in Austria under the patronage of Yehudi Menuhin. Among his students there is Elisso Bolkvadze, the world famous Georgian pianist. Maestros Sogny and Bolkvadze are the only performers in the world who play works of F. Liszt for piano 4-hands.

More recent activities of Dr. Sogny include the managing of the SOS Talents Foundation founded in 2000 with the sponsorship of his wife and Serge Dassault, which assumes the cost of studies for young talented pianists.
